The W's. Who, what, and why?

My name is Melanie. I created KaitleeKares Collective a few years ago in memory of my little sister, Tara Kaitlee Deckard, who took her life in Oct 2021.  She had suffered for many years with mental health diagnosis and drug addiction.  Unfortunately, that day, we all lost.

In order to keep her memory alive, I have created this website to keep her memory  alive and help spread awareness.  My mother in law and I are creating fabric origami butterflies with tags to remind others that they are loved.  We are in Pennsylvania, and we have (or will within the next few weeks) have had butterflies placed in over half of the states including Hawaii, England, UK, Canada, Africa, and England.  Each butterfly has a tag with a quote reminding others that they are loved.  Each tag also has our name and also the National Suicide Hotline.  I've created a Facebook Group where we also share positive quotes and memes, tributes to loved ones, look for support, or simply find somebody to talk to if you're struggling.  You can also find us on TikTok for more positive encouragement.
