Spoon Theory 101

Christine Meserandino is the creator of "butyoudontlooksick.com". She suffers from multiple chronic diseases. She introduced the "spoonie lifestyle" in her blog to explain what chronic illness feels like to those of us suffering with chronic illnesses.
Spoon theory is a metaphor of how much energy it takes up to perform basic, everyday activities. Those who don't suffer from chronic illness may use a lot less "spoons" than those suffering from the chronic illness.
Showering, brushing your hair and teeth, getting dressed in the morning, doing your makeup, making yourself something to eat. They all sound like basic everyday activities.
But for one of us "spoonies," those activities tend to take up way more spoons than anybody else.
There have been times where I physically couldn't find the spoons to shower and brush my teeth for the day. Sure, it sounds so simple But the reality is that everybody's mind is completely different.
Some days, that shower literally makes me sick. I pray today that you have the spoons to do everything you want to do.
I may elaborate more on this in the future but for right now, this is perfect.
